This report will focus on the supply network. Supply network can be used to highlight interactions between organisations so information can flow easily. There are 10 main network supplies however there are three main ones which will be talked about which are workers, the manufacturing and the distribution of a certain product. This includes the workers, the waste management, the water management, raw materials and the transportation. People support the supply network are normally the ones who are involved in the network itself such as the workers are supported by the management and vice versa. And how they communicate is also important so the flow of information is easier and clear. In most cases the workers would report to the manager and the manager will report it to people higher to solve matters in the organisation.

Introduction

Supply network is supply chain which has turned into a more complex structure which involves high level of interpendence and connectivity between organisations. This report will be discussing different types of people involved in the supply network such as the workers, waste management, water management, raw materials and transportation. It will also discuss about the people who support the supply network structure and their communication within the network.

Workers

Workers are involved in the supply chain network. This is because they are the ones who work hard to bring the product into process. This supply network is found right at the beginning of the supply chain and if it isn’t for the workers the consumers will not be getting that particular product. For example workers in a sugarcane plantation plant the canes so they grow in few months for harvesting seasons. When the harvesting occurs the sugar is then transported to manufacturing sites where the canes are processed further and sent to supermarkets so be sold. It is important that the workers who work in places such as the sugar plantation in poorer areas like India or Brazil have a fair trade agreement between them and the organisation. This is to ensure that workers are treated fairly and this agreement would also help the workers families to have a better life where they could send their children to schools. Another types of workers are the ones involved in the manufacturing sites.  These workers are in charge of the machinery in the worksites. It is important that their health and safety is taken care of on the sites. Workers in factories are in charge of each separate sections in which they have that particular skills in. They all work differently in different work environments.

Waste management

The management is responsible for the waste management. This is important for every organisation to minimise the impact on the environment and also cut costs as well. For example in sugar factories the waste is minimised by the team in charge for each sections. Normally there are people who are appointed to take care for the waste in the organisation. The overall waste should be recycled by the company members. Council should collect the waste which can be recycled by them and not as well. The canes are crushed to release the sugar juice from it. Factories have thought ways to minimise waste by reusing the canes woody bits in their millers to fuel the boilers. Other ways waste is managed in places like that is by waste streams are generated by the plant; the wastewater tank receives waste process flows which include discharge from carbon columns, dewatering screw, cyclone, excess transport water, overflow from the carbon tanks and various floor drains (Chelsea Sugar, n.d). materials like this can fill sediment in water tank if it is not stirred so new ways to pump waste water tank up to carbon tank is where good carbon granules are settled out so it is dried and reused instead of disposed.

Water management

Saving water for the environment as well as for management is crucial as it is important in our lives. Water management must also be done by the people responsible for the water sections. For example Chelsea sugar believes that saving water is important and are looking
